Soil Water Balance and Shallow Aquifer Recharge in an Irrigated Pasture Field with Clay Soils in the Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA

چکیده
Quantifying soil water budget components, and characterizing groundwater recharge from irrigation seepage, is important for effective resources management. This particularly true in agricultural fields overlying shallow aquifers, like those found the Willamette Valley western Oregon, USA. The objectives of this two-year study were to (1) determine deep percolation an irrigated pasture field with clay soils, (2) assess aquifer during season. Soil levels measured at four monitoring stations distributed across experimental field. A balance approach was used quantify portioning different including percolation. On average stations, total applied 249 mm 2020 381 2021. uncertainty analysis in prediction of soil water balance components in two irrigated field in arid region
uncertainty analysis is a useful tool to evaluate soil water simulations in order to get more information about the models output. these information provide more confidence for decision making processes. in this study, swap model is applied for soil water balance simulations in two fields which are planted by wheat and maize in an arid region. first the amount of uncertainty is estimated and co...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Water flow and salt transport in cracking clay soils of the Imperial Valley, California
The principles of irrigation and drainage in cracking soils differ markedly from non-cracking soils, and are not thoroughly understood. This paper presents a conceptual model to simulate water and salt flows in cracking soils of the Imperial Valley, CA, in the presence of ground water that contributes partially to ET demand of crops. A salt reactivity function is introduced in the model to acco...
متن کاملGranary-Site Selection by Acorn Woodpeckers in the Willamette Valley, Oregon
The acorn woodpecker is among the most common primary cavity nesting bird of the Oregon white oak woodlands. In most of their range, acorn woodpeckers are dependent on granaries for acorn storage, yet little is known about their selection of granary sites. We compared habitat characteristics within 12 m of granary and non-granary trees at 20 acorn woodpecker colonies in Benton County, Oregon du...
